Family Office - Trust Modeling Bridge Resource

A family office CEO lost an internal resource during a trust design project. I filled in developing a new model, later handing off to the replacement.

What question was being illuminated?

The challenge involved sizing and structuring the funding of generation skipping trusts while balancing the liquidity of trusts currently providing income to beneficiaries.

What was required of the client? Given the timeline, the project required high frequency iteration, executing over a half-dozen working sessions with the CEO to refine scope and tighten up the deliverable. The natural concerns and priorities of family members were highlighted and the strategy implemented. The model is now part of a regular annual, fine tuning of the cross-trust transaction pacing.

After the initial project, what made your help temporary? I transitioned the model to the replacement staff as they acclimated to this tool, including merging with other tools under their coverage. I also supported existing staff as they considered enhancements as their use grew.
